Technology is infused in each lesson during classroom instruction. The following websites are wonderful tools to reinforce what we are learning about in class and will spark your child's curiosity and love of learning. 

Pearson Success Net

This is our curriculum website and it provides the students access to their textbook, interactive games, reading passages, practice quizzes, virtual labs. This is directly linked to what we are doing in the classroom. Students need their username and password, which has been assigned to them at the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year. 

Brainpop

This website contains short, humorous videos with the likeable characters Tim and Moby. What is wonderful about this website is that it is easy to use and it has instructional videos related to every content area followed by practice activities or quizzes. A username and password is required to access all of the content on this site. South Dade Middle has an account with brainpop and your child should be familiar with the school's username and password. If they are not, please contact me either by telephone or email and I will provide you with the necessary information.

Extreme Science

This website provides in-depth information for students about a wide variety of science topics. It is visually appealing with real-life pictures and high interest videos that are absolutely free for students to access. It is easy to use as well. There is a topic bar on the homepage which students can click on to learn more about a general idea of interest to them. The RESOURCE tab offers access to videos, science websites, and maps. The ABOUT tab allows students to see every topic covered on the website. Once students click on the ABOUT tab, simply click on SITE MAP to see what this website has to offer. This website could serve as a tool for future science fair projects or simply help with homework. 

Exploratorium

This website offers hands-on activities, online interactives, videos, and more! There is a membership option however there are many free high interest activities and resources for students.

Gamequarium

This website will appeal to every student! It offers interactive games addressing a variety of topics across the content area. Membership is free.
